============================================== CRUISIN' SHOW PROVES WISCONSIN ROCKS! THIS WEEK ON ROCK-IT RADIO #2642
After last week's bit of relaxation we pump the volume right up! This week's Cruisin' Show pays tribute to a very small recording studio in Wisconsin, Cuca Records & its subsiduaries. Very little of the material was heard outside the locality and there was never a big hit produced to put them on the map, although they came very close on a couple of occasions. Most of the bands & singers were local and in the main only recorded a couple or so sides. They produced some superb rock 'n' roll and some fantastic instrumentals. The majority of these might be recorded in the 1960's but they were still rockin' 50's style! Although the artists may be new to you some of the songs you'll certainly recognise, particularly perhaps some of the first four, all of them being covers of some of Gene Vincent's lesser known songs. So....Let's go Rockin' in Wisconsin....!! 1. Rocky Road Blues - The Mule Skinners 1963 2. Say Mama - Grand Prix's (unissued) 1963 3. I Might Have Known - The Teen Kings 1963 4. Little Shiela (She She Little Shiela) - The Darnells 1961 5. Orbit Rock - The Orbits 1960 6. Rockin' Fool - The Monereys 1959 7. Rocker - The Montereys 1959 8. Mule Skinner Blues (original recording) - The Fendermen 1960 9. Janice - The Fendermen 1960 10. Jingle Jump - Danny Peil & The Tigers 1966 11. Till the End of Time - Joey Gee & The Come-Ons 1965 12. Shakin' All Over - Raylene & the Blue Angels 1966 13. Jenny Jenny - Joey Gee & The Come-Ons (unissued) 1965 14. The Boat That I Row - The Wanderer's Rest 1967 15. Scalping Party - The Tornados (not the British group) 1962 16. Midnight Express - Willie Tremain's Thunderbirds 1959 17. I Love You Patricia - The Supremes Four 1961 18. So Loved Am I - Ronnie Premier 1961 19. Moon Race - The Citations 1963 20. You're Alright - Kenny King & the Be Bops 1962 21. Rewind - Grand Prix's (unissued) 1963 22. Love Trap - Ronnie Premier (unissued) 1960 23. Sands of Arabia - The Teen Tones 1964 24. Gonna Take My Guitar - Bobby Hodge 1960 25. The Lonely Huns - Attila & the Huns 1965 26. I'm Movin' On - Dick Hiorns with Jimmy Sun & the Radiants 1961 Thanks again Johnny G! If you would like to send Johnny G a comment or just to say hello or a request for a future show.
